Versatility is the name of the game these days. People want and need cars that are able to do a lot of different things. We need a mix of fuel economy, power, and cargo space because there are so many things to do in a day.
Some people need a vehicle that can do a bit of heavy lifting, but a full-sized pickup truck seems like it would be too much. It’s not easy to find a vehicle that fills the niche between SUV and truck. Volkswagen has a new concept vehicle that might be able to fill this hole. The Volkswagen Turok is a hybrid of many different ideas.
What Is the Volkswagen Turok?
The Volkswagen Turok doesn’t have much competition in its category. There aren’t a lot of compact pickup trucks out there. Volkswagen has tried out smaller pickup vehicles before, like the trucks built of the Bus chassis in the 50s and 60s. This new pickup will work off of Volkswagen’s new MQB chassis, which the Atlas and Tiguan also use.
The Turok will actually be a bit shorter than the Atlas, but you don’t have to worry about a lack of cargo space. The innovative design allows the front wall of the pickup bed to fold down into the cabin of the Turok to give you a bit more space when you need it. The Turok will be a capable truck with how Volkswagen has designed it. It will be sporty and efficient as well, combining all the best aspects of every vehicle type.
