There is a lot of innovation that happens at car manufacturers. Each car they put out is the result of years of hard work and tireless effort. It takes a lot of time to refine each design into the perfect shape and that’s just the beginning of the process.
That process is what makes the announcement of a new car so exciting, and part of the reason why discontinuing a line can feel so heartbreaking. Volkswagen has a great lineup of vehicles, but the company has recently decided to end production of two of their VW Golf models, the Alltrack and SportWagen.
Volkswagen Discontinuing the AllTrack and SportWagen Models
Companies always listen to the demands of their customers, and Volkswagen heard their customers loud and clear. There has been a surge in the popularity of SUVs. Many customers are opting for utility over wagons. The Atlas and Tiguan have been popular for Volkswagen, showing a lot of growth in the first half of the year. The change in consumer needs led Volkswagen to decide to discontinue the AllTrack and SportWagen models of the VW Golf.
Production will continue until December 2019, but no new models will be produced after that. Volkswagen is working on a few new SUVs that it plans on unveiling soon. There is the Atlas Cross Sport, ID, and the CROZZ. The CROZZ looks to be an electric SUV that will debut early next year. There is also a smaller SUV coming out in 2021 that will slot beneath the Tiguan.
